Guardianship Training

Guardianship Training

All in person classes are on hold until further notice.

Catholic Charities is developing an online 8-hour training course to replace the live sessions due to COVID-19 guidelines on gatherings and social distancing.    Guardianship Training Program is an eight-hour course that is required of each person appointed by the court to be a guardian and must be completed within four months after appointment.

This is a court-approved, non-professional guardian training course and meets statutory guardianship education requirements. Taught by attorneys, financial planners, professional guardians and case managers, it is sponsored by the Palm Beach County Bar Association Guardianship Education Committee.

Course material covers:

  • Legal duties and responsibilities of a guardian
  • Rights of the ward
  • Preparation of guardianship reports
  • Preparation of financial accounting of the ward’s property
  • Availability of local resources to aid the ward

The course is typically held four times per calendar year.  A certificate of attendance is provided at the completion of course. For more information, please contact the Program Staff.

Below are documents for attendees who have completed the course. Please use the login credentials provided to you during the course to access the information.
