More than 100 guests and members of the public attended the recent Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach's celebration of the opening of the newest location of one of its pregnancy care centers – the Birthline/Lifeline Pregnancy Care Center in Boynton Beach. A generous and anonymous donor donated the 5,000 square foot building to the Birthline/Lifeline Program which provides pregnancy and counseling services free of charge to the local community without regard to religion. This center reestablishes a Catholic Charities location in Boynton Beach. Prior, the pregnancy care center was located in Delray Beach.
The Open House gave those in attendance the opportunity to tour the building which inludes an event room available for rent and a classroom. The Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito, Bishop of the Diocese of Palm Beach, blessed the building before the tours began. Jerry Taylor, Mayor of the City of Boynton Beach, also spoke and welcomed Catholic Charities back to the city.
