Respect Life Ministry

In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, we join together in prayer and expectant hope that states will protect women and children from the injustice of abortion. As we affirm the value of every human life, we welcome the possibility of saving countless unborn children as well as sparing women and families the pain of abortion. The Catholic Church has a long history of service to those who are most vulnerable and remains the largest private provider of social services in the United States. Through the sacrificial efforts of faithful Catholics, the Church serves millions through diocesan ministries and agencies, Catholic hospitals and healthcare systems, immigration clinics, shelters, and Catholic schools and parishes. The Catholic Church is also a leader in advocating and praying for an end to abortion. Here are some helpful resources for Courageously Living the Gospel of life so that all human life is protected in law and welcomed in love.

Pray for the Legal Protection of the Unborn

We are steadfast in praying for the states in their legal endeavors in favor of protecting unborn children. We entreat the faithful to commit to daily prayer and fasting along with other believers across the country for state decisions that honors the sanctity of unborn life.

Prayer for Life

Heavenly Father, the beauty and dignity of human life was the crowning of your creation. You further ennobled that life when your Son became one with us in his incarnation. Help us to realize the sacredness of human life and to respect life from the moment of conception until the last moment at death. Give us the courage to speak with truth, love, and conviction in defense of life. Help us to extend the gentle hand of mercy and forgiveness to those who do not reverence your gift of life. To all, grant pardon for the times we have failed to be grateful for your precious gift of life or to respect it in others. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Learn About the Issues

The Church will never cease to do what it has always done- to pray, work, and serve until the day when every human life is protected in law, and welcomed in love. Until that day comes, and ever after, we will continue to care for women and children in need, so that every mother has the support to joyfully choose life. Pro-life Americans of all faiths have stepped forward to found thousands of pregnancy care centers, and will be counted on to provide even more help as needed. Pro-life activists have been helping these women over the last nearly half-century.

Help for Pregnant Women

If you or someone you know is pregnant and needs help, we encourage you to find a local pregnancy center to find the support you need. Local pregnancy help centers are the best place to start. At a pregnancy help center, you will find individuals who care about you and are dedicated to doing everything possible to help you explore your options by providing accurate information. They can help you verify your pregnancy with an accurate pregnancy test and ultrasound if needed. They have information on the resources available to you that can help to meet your financial, material and emotional needs.
