Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach is pleased to welcome a new Executive Director of the agency. Francisco (Frankie) Chevere, J.D., was recommended as Executive Director by the search committee of the Board of the Directors and appointed by Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito, Bishop of Palm Beach. .
Mr. Chevere holds a B.A. in Economics and Government from Georgetown University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He has a background in labor and employment law, organizational management, strategic planning, fundraising and program implementation. Mr. Chevere recently relocated to South Florida from Puerto Rico where he served as Executive Director for Puerto Rico Trade & Export Co., located in San Juan. During his four-year tenure as Executive Director, Mr. Chevere was responsible for numerous government programs and agencies that created and expanded small and medium-sized enterprises and promoted the development of entrepreneurs.
Additionally, Mr. Chevere served for many years as Partner in the Law Firm of McConnell Valdes, LLC., and also as Special Counsel for Morell Bauza & Dapena, LLC. Until recently, he served on the Caritas de Puerto Rico (Catholic Charities of Puerto Rico) Board of Directors. He also acted as a Legal Advisor to the Executive Director of Caritas de Puerto Rico since 2011, providing legal advice on procedures to seek legislative funds and other legal issues, and recently co-chaired a logistics committee to administer Disaster Relief funds for persons impacted by Hurricane Maria. Mr. Chevere lives with his wife in West Palm Beach and has three sons, two of whom also reside in South Florida.
