Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach is honored to announce a generous $65,000 grant award from the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties (CFPBMC) in support of our Homeless Prevention Project serving Palm Beach and Martin Counties. This funding, awarded for the grant period July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026, will directly strengthen our efforts to prevent homelessness and provide critical assistance to individuals and families experiencing crisis.
Through our Hunger & Homeless Outreach Program, Catholic Charities works on the front lines to serve neighbors who are:
Facing eviction or housing instability
Experiencing homelessness
Struggling with food insecurity
In need of case management and supportive services
This grant will allow us to expand our homelessness prevention efforts by providing emergency financial assistance, rental support, and coordinated referrals to community resources. By intervening early, we help families remain safely housed—reducing trauma, preserving stability for children, and preventing the long-term consequences of homelessness.
Each year, Catholic Charities encounters individuals who are one unexpected expense—a medical bill, car repair, or job loss—away from losing their home. With this funding, we can respond quickly and compassionately, offering not only immediate relief but also pathways toward long-term stability.
Homelessness prevention is both compassionate and cost-effective. By keeping families housed, we:
Prevent children from being displaced from their schools
Reduce strain on emergency shelters and public systems
Stabilize households so adults can maintain employment
Strengthen the overall health of our community
This grant ensures that vulnerable residents in Palm Beach and Martin Counties will have access to the resources they need to remain safe, secure, and hopeful.
We are deeply grateful to the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties for recognizing the urgency of homelessness prevention and for investing in solutions that make a measurable difference. Together, we are building a community where every person has access to food, shelter, and the opportunity to thrive.
