Over four years ago, Renee Higgins joined Catholic Charities through the AARP volunteer program. When her term ended in November 2024, she didn’t think twice about continuing to serve—choosing to remain a dedicated volunteer in our Hunger, Homeless & Outreach program, providing homelessness prevention services.
Renee can be found in the program office two to five days a week, ready to lend a helping hand wherever she’s needed. From assisting in the food pantry and clothing closet to retrieving voicemails from potential clients, she approaches each task with warmth and purpose.
Renee has a special gift for taking large donations and finding the most efficient and thoughtful ways to organize them, ensuring resources are ready for those who need them most. Her countless hours of service—always offered with a smile and genuine enthusiasm—have made a lasting difference for our clients and staff alike.
We are deeply grateful for Renee’s dedication, compassion, and unwavering willingness to serve the most vulnerable in our community. She truly embodies the mission of Catholic Charities.
