Catholic Charities is proud to recognize Maria Melo, Disaster Recovery Case Manager, as our Employee of the Quarter. Maria exemplifies what it means to serve with compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to those most in need.
In the often overwhelming world of disaster recovery, Maria goes far beyond the call of duty to make the lives of our clients more bearable during some of their most difficult moments. She walks alongside individuals and families as they navigate the long, complex recovery process—offering not just guidance, but genuine care and reassurance every step of the way.
Maria’s service does not stop during the workweek. Every weekend, she faithfully staffs Miracle House during Saturday Masses, ensuring that help, resources, and a welcoming presence are available to those seeking assistance. This consistent commitment speaks volumes about her servant’s heart and deep sense of responsibility to our community.
As a colleague, Maria is equally remarkable. She is always willing to step in wherever help is needed—delivering food for outreach, assisting with the payment of critical client bills, and supporting fellow staff members without hesitation. Her teamwork and generosity strengthen our entire disaster recovery program.
One colleague shared special appreciation for Maria’s mentorship, noting how she provided invaluable guidance when they first joined the disaster team. Through her patience, knowledge, and encouragement, Maria helped them learn how to best serve our clients with confidence and compassion.
Maria Melo’s dedication reflects the very best of Catholic Charities. We are deeply grateful for her tireless service, her kindness to clients, and her steadfast support of her colleagues. Congratulations, Maria, on being named Employee of the Quarter—this recognition is well deserved!
