Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach is proud to announce the receipt of an $80,000 Helping Hands grant from Catholic Charities USA, awarded in March 2026. This generous funding will directly support individuals and families facing urgent financial crises, helping to prevent homelessness and promote long-term stability in our community.
These funds will allow Catholic Charities to respond quickly to critical needs such as rent and housing-related emergencies—providing a vital safety net for those at risk of losing their homes.
The Helping Hands Program is specifically designed to assist individuals and families experiencing short-term, unforeseen emergencies that could otherwise lead to housing instability. By combining financial assistance with case management, Catholic Charities works to ensure that each household not only overcomes an immediate crisis but is also positioned for ongoing stability.
“We are deeply grateful to Catholic Charities USA and the Gerstner Foundation for their continued partnership and support,” said Rocio Lopez, Program Director for the Hunger Homeless Outreach Program. “This funding allows us to meet people at critical moments in their lives and provide the help they need to remain safely housed.”
Each year, Catholic Charities serves thousands of individuals and families across Palm Beach County, offering hope and assistance in times of need. This grant strengthens the agency’s ability to carry out its mission—serving the most vulnerable with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Together with partners like Catholic Charities USA, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach continues to make a meaningful difference—one family, one crisis, and one act of compassion at a time.
