Catholic Charities is proud to recognize Jill Martin, Peer Support Specialist in our Bakhita Empowerment Program, as our Employee of the Quarter. Jill’s dedication, compassion, and leadership have made a positive impact on both her colleagues and the vulnerable individuals we are called to serve.
Since joining the team in March 2025, Jill has quickly become an indispensable member of the program. As noted in multiple nominations submitted, when a critical staffing gap arose in the program, Jill stepped forward without hesitation—taking on additional responsibilities to ensure uninterrupted care for clients. In addition to her role as a Peer Support Specialist, Jill has taken on additional duties, including conducting eligibility intakes and providing crisis intervention. Her willingness to serve wherever needed reflects the very heart of Catholic Charities’ mission.
The Bakhita Empowerment Program serves survivors of human trafficking—individuals often facing complex trauma, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders. In this demanding and emotionally intense environment, Jill consistently demonstrates extraordinary compassion, patience, and resilience. She helps clients navigate moments of crisis while restoring hope and stability in their lives.
Jill’s teammates also highlight her as an outstanding team player—reliable, positive, and always willing to go above and beyond. Colleagues describe her as someone who builds trust effortlessly and remains a steady, calming presence even in high-stress situations.
