Catholic Charities Diocese of Palm Beach is honored to announce the receipt of a $50,000 grant award from the Town of Palm Beach United Way in support of two vital community programs: Bakhita Empowerment and Elder Affairs.
The funding, approved for the 2026–2027 grant cycle, includes:
- $15,000 for the Bakhita Empowerment Program
- $35,000 for Elder Affairs services
This investment reflects the Town of Palm Beach United Way’s longstanding commitment to strengthening lives and supporting organizations that respond to the evolving needs of Palm Beach County residents in need.
The Bakhita Empowerment Program provides critical support and resources to survivors of human trafficking and exploitation, helping individuals rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and hope. Through trauma-informed care, advocacy, and case management, the program empowers survivors on their journey toward healing and independence.
The Elder Affairs Program serves older adults throughout the community by helping seniors maintain stability, independence, and access to essential services. From case management and supportive services to advocacy and referrals, the program ensures vulnerable seniors receive compassionate care and assistance during challenging times.
“We are deeply grateful to the Town of Palm Beach United Way for their continued partnership and investment in our mission,” said Catholic Charities CEO, Ellen T. Wayne. “These funds will allow us to continue providing life-changing services to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.”
Town of Palm Beach United Way donors have supported Catholic Charities since 1969, contributing more than $2.2 million in grants over the years. This enduring partnership has helped Catholic Charities expand outreach, strengthen services, and provide compassionate care to individuals and families across Palm Beach County.
Catholic Charities Diocese of Palm Beach remains committed to serving all people in need with dignity, compassion, and respect. Community partnerships like this one make it possible to continue building stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.
