Each summer, seminarians from the Diocese of Palm Beach spend six to seven weeks traveling throughout the diocese as part of their Summer Formation Program. Living in different communities and participating in parish life and ministry, they gain firsthand experience serving the people they may one day shepherd as priests.
As part of this formation, the seminarians recently spent time at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach, learning how the Church extends Christ's love beyond the parish walls through compassionate service to those most in need.
During their visit, they were introduced to the many ministries and programs that provide hope and practical assistance to individuals and families facing challenges such as homelessness, food insecurity, pregnancy, aging, immigration concerns, and recovery from crisis. They also had the opportunity to meet dedicated staff, hear stories of transformation, and witness how faith is lived out through acts of mercy every day.
Their time at Catholic Charities offered a meaningful reminder that the vocation to the priesthood is rooted not only in celebrating the sacraments but also in accompanying people with compassion, dignity, and hope.
We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome these future priests and pray that their experiences this summer continue to strengthen their commitment to serving God's people wherever they are called.
