Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach is pleased to announce the renewal of Year Two of its two-year grant partnership with The Jim Moran Foundation, providing $75,000 to continue critical homelessness prevention services for older adults in Palm Beach County. The renewed funding supports the agency's Hunger, Homeless Outreach Program, helping vulnerable seniors remain safely housed and financially stable.
Housing costs continue to place tremendous pressure on older adults living on fixed incomes. An unexpected medical bill, rising utility costs, or temporary financial hardship can quickly place a senior at risk of eviction or homelessness. Through this generous investment from The Jim Moran Foundation, Catholic Charities will provide emergency financial assistance, intensive case management, financial education, and connections to community resources that help older adults maintain safe, stable housing.
During the second year of the grant, Catholic Charities expects to serve 22 households headed by adults age 60 and older directly supported by The Jim Moran Foundation's funding. The program ensures participants have the tools and support needed to achieve long-term financial stability.
Success is measured not only by preventing an immediate housing crisis but by helping families remain stable over time. Catholic Charities follows each household for up to 12 months after assistance is provided, offering ongoing support and monitoring to help ensure they continue living independently and avoid future housing instability. The program's goal is for 95 percent of participating households to move from housing insecurity to housing stability within one year.
