Donor Spotlight & In Memoriam, Remembering Alfonso "Alfy" Fanjul Jr.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach joins our community in mourning the passing of Alfonso "Alfy" Fanjul Jr., a respected business leader, devoted husband and father, faithful Catholic, and generous philanthropist whose life reflected a deep commitment to serving others. Mr. Fanjul passed away on August 3 at the age of 89 after several months of health challenges.

Throughout his life, Alfy understood that every blessing is an opportunity to bless others. Through the generosity of the Fanjul family, Catholic Charities has been able to extend Christ's love to countless individuals and families experiencing hunger, homelessness, crisis pregnancies, human trafficking, disasters, and other hardships across the Diocese of Palm Beach.

His legacy reaches far beyond business success. It lives on in every family that found hope, every child who received care, every senior who experienced dignity, and every person who encountered compassion because someone chose to give.

As Bishop Manuel Rodríguez shared, Alfy was "a man of exemplary moral character" whose leadership was matched by a profound commitment to the common good and whose generosity touched countless lives.

We are deeply grateful for Mr. Fanjul's faithful stewardship and for the enduring partnership of the Fanjul family in advancing the mission of Catholic Charities. Their generosity has helped us answer Christ's call to care for "the least of these" (Matthew 25:40), bringing hope and healing to our neighbors in need.

Please join us in praying for the repose of Alfy's soul and for God's comfort and peace to surround Raysa, the entire Fanjul family, and all who mourn his passing.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
