Norris Family Fund Awards $15,000 Grant to Support the Samaritan Center

August 2026

Catholic Charities Diocese of Palm Beach is grateful to announce a $15,000 grant from the Norris Family Fund, administered through the Indian River Community Foundation, in support of the Samaritan Center in Indian River County.

This generous investment will help Catholic Charities provide transitional housing, case management, life-skills education, children's programming, and supportive services to families experiencing homelessness as they work toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

The Samaritan Center serves homeless families in Indian River County by offering a safe and nurturing environment where parents and children can rebuild their lives.

“We are deeply grateful to the Norris Family Fund and the Indian River Community Foundation for their commitment to strengthening families in our community,” said Renee Bireley, Development Manager. “This grant will help ensure that parents and children facing homelessness have access to the resources, guidance, and support they need to build a brighter future.”

Families participating in the Samaritan Center program work closely with staff to establish financial stability, obtain employment, develop essential life skills, and prepare for independent living. The program’s comprehensive approach addresses both immediate housing needs and the long-term challenges that can contribute to housing insecurity.

The grant from the Norris Family Fund reflects a shared commitment to creating pathways out of homelessness and helping vulnerable families achieve lasting success.

Catholic Charities Diocese of Palm Beach extends its sincere appreciation to the Norris Family Fund and the Indian River Community Foundation for their generosity and partnership in serving homeless families throughout Indian River County.
