Empowering Catholics

Parish Social Ministry

Life * Family * Rights * Dignity of Work * Solidarity * Option for the Poor * Environment

The Catholic Charities Parish Social Ministry seeks to empower Catholics in the Diocese of Palm Beach to celebrate and realize the Gospel call for life, human dignity, and care for God’s creation through Catholic Social Teaching formation, organized parish social ministries, and opportunities for public advocacy and action.

Our Ministry Includes:

  • Catholic Social Teaching formation: Information and presentations are available across the Diocese of Palm Beach.
  • Catholic Charities Ambassador Program: Ambassadors serve as a link between the parish, or the school, and Catholic Charities.
  • Catholic Relief Services (CRS): Established by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), CRS carries out our Catholic commitment to help those who are poor and vulnerable overseas. Each year CRS Rice Bowl is conducted to help Catholics observe the season of Lent through prayer, learning, action, and almsgiving. The funds are collected for work overseas and a small portion of the funds remain within the diocese and are given through grants to local outreach programs at our diocesan parishes.
  • Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) is the official domestic anti-poverty agency of the USCCB and works to break the cycle of poverty by helping people help themselves.
