The Catholic Charities Hunger, Homeless & Outreach Program provides emergency services that assist individuals and families to attain economic stability and self-sufficiency through the provision of support services and appropriate referrals when necessary. Over the past year, Catholic Charities has made a strategic effort to develop and grow this program with the intention of providing more direct services to the community and those in need.
With its knowledge of the extensive range of resources available in the community, this program provides basic information and referrals but has also grown to provide the following direct services:
- Rent and utility assistance
- Assistance screening: helping to screen clients to see if they qualify for available resources including food stamps (SNAP) and Medicaid.
- Benefit Enrollment: provide help in enrolling those who qualify for assistance benefits.
- Food and transportation assistance
