Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach would like to extend our gratefulness to the First Horizon Foundation for their November 2022 gift of $5,000 to support our Elder Affairs Guardianship Program.
By court appointment, Catholic Charities Elder Affairs professionals are assigned to seniors in need of protection and care, who lack a family member or legal representative to ensure their housing, medical, emotional, personal, and spiritual needs are fully met. Many are victim to financial exploitation depleting them of their life savings and an inability to pay for long-term care. Unfortunately, at intake many of our clients are involved in active cases of abuse, neglect, fraud, theft, financial mismanagement, or other disputes. The Program serves to provide ongoing long-term support, coordination of care and protection from further or potential abuse, neglect and/or exploitation. The majority (62%) of Catholic Charities clients - who stay in our care until death - have no income and are unable to contribute to the cost of their care.
This gift, from The First Horizon Foundation, will go toward the care of indigent, incapacitated seniors to ensure they are safe, secure, and protected from victimization.
The First Horizon Foundation is the private charitable foundation of First Horizon National Corporation. Founded in 1993 to serve the communities in which they operate, their Foundation has donated more than $100 million across their footprint.
