Catholic Charities Receives Grant to Help Register People in Need for the SNAP Benefits

Catholic Charities is pleased to announce a $14,000 award from Catholic Charities USA and The Walmart Foundation to help register people in need for the Federal Supplemental Nutrition and Assistance Program, also known as SNAP.  The award was released on January 16, 2024.

Registering Diocese residents who are eligible in the SNAP program helps improve food security, enhances the health and well-being and reduces healthcare costs of residents by ensuring adequate nutrition, provides economic stimulus to the community, promotes social equity by ensuring vulnerable populations have access to basic necessities, improves community resilience, and helps with the reduction of poverty in our area.  Registering eligible residents for SNAP reflects our commitment to the well-being of all community members. It aligns with humanitarian and ethical principles, emphasizing the importance of supporting those in need.

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach is thankful for this partnership as it directly contributes to our mission of serving people in need and creating hope in all stages of life.

If you know of a family that is struggling to put food on the table, please have them call our Hunger Homeless Outreach Program to see if they qualify.  1-561-345-2007.
